Hi there – thanks for reading and for the comment! There are certain areas that have more retirees / snowbirds than others. Within Venice, it really depends on the neighborhood itself. Neighborhoods such as Stoneybrook at Venice are known for having mostly families, in fact, that is a very family-friendly neighborhood (Halloween is quite the even there!). But there are other neighborhoods around town too that are great for families. Another alternative is to venture just outside of Venice. The town of North Port is a bit further from the beach, but is very popular with families because it’s a bit more affordable. Or you can venture north toward Osprey and Sarasota – which are super family friendly all around.

We are locating to Sarasota County in two months. I am looking into Venice as I am finding limited homes and higher prices in Sarasota. I am looking for a kid neighborhood. My son is 9.
